Home Remedies On Stomach Ulcers?

Does anyone have any idea what type of home remedies work well with stomach ulcers? I am on a very large dose of antacid, but I’m still having bad pain. I heard bananas?

One of the best proven treatments for ulcer is Licorice root. Licorice root or glycyrrhiza glabra is one of the most extensively investigated herbs. The medicinal uses of licorice in both Western and Eastern cultures dates back several thousand years. Licorice root is very soothing to mucous membranes.
How does it work? Licorice root extract stimulates the normal defense mechanisms that prevent ulcer formation. The extract increases the number of mucus-producing cells, improves the quality of the mucus produced, increases the life span of intestinal cells and improves blood supply to the intestinal lining.
At least 14 double blind studies have shown the favorable results of licorice root extract compared to placebo, and even to other anti-ulcer drugs. Some patients on licorice root developed sodium and water retention, low potassium and high blood pressure due to one component of licorice root known as glycyrrhetinic acid, so a special licorice root extract known as deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) has been developed to retain all the positive benefits of licorice root without the negative side effects mentioned above.
DGL has another useful effect. A recent study showed that DGL inhibits helicobacter pylori, and its action was similar to that of bismuth. While antibiotics are traditionally used to treat this sort of infection, the drawback of antibiotics is that they do not change the conditions that led to the infection in the first place.
DGL must be mixed with saliva to be effective. The recommended dosage is two 380mg tablets chewed well twenty minutes before each meal.
Traditionally, raw cabbage juice has also been used for stomach ulcers and raw potato juice for duodenal ulcers.
    Hope you feel better soon.

Are you sure you really have an ulcer? If a doctor diagnosed it, you would be on medication from him already. Ulcers are serious if left untreated.
[update] Make sure you eat small meals regularly so that your stomach is never empty. Do not drink milk or fruit juice. Limit or cut out coffee, tea, alcohol. If you look after the ulcer it will heal fairly fast, then your diet will be less restricted. Fail to do so and the consequences will be bad. Also don’t smoke.

Negative Calorie Foods

The phrase, "negative calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained in the food.
