There are a lot of things that can slow the healing of a foot ulcer. It is important to stay off of the foot as much as possible, and keep the wound clean and dry to prevent the spreading of infection, kuz if the infection spreads they might have to cut your foot off.
You should go tot the doctor and ask the doctor to a xray and make sure your bones are not infected, and take any medicine the doctor gives you to keep your sugar low and to make the infection better too.
Keep your leg propped up so the blood can circle the way it is supposed to circleate.
Sit outside and let your foot get some air. This will help your foot smell better while the air helps it heal.
Make sure you drink lots of stuff too so you don’t get dehydrated… but don’t drink sugary drinks kuz they will make your sugar go too high, and if your sugar is too high the ulcer won’t get better.
my daddy has diabetics too and he always says that it don’t hurt to pray… so i’ll pray for you too, and you pray too, and maybe if a bunch of people read this they will pray too and then they won’t have to cut your foot off kuz it will be all better.

I assume you have seen your doctor, right? I was a wound care In-home nurse. Please believe me there are so many crazy things that people have tried, burned sugar, garlic onion & honey, sage… you name it and I have seen the damage they have done..
Keep it clean & dry if you have a good clean yard without dust blowing sit in the shade and let it “air” put up your foot up all the time so it can get a good blood supply. Most inportant thing is keeping your sugars low. Make it your job to work on this. Check your BS 20 times a day and take your insulin accordingly.
Good Luck.

Don’t mess with home remedies.
Call your healthcare provider’s office first thing Monday to discuss the slow healing.
If the wound has a lot of yellow or black tissue ask about doing wet-to-dry dressings. If it is really bad ask them to remove the dead tissue. They can also prescribe an enzyme gel that will dissolve dead tissue without harming living tissue.
An advanced thinking practitioner may use sterile maggots! They eat only dead tissue and leave living tissue alone. DON’T GO OUT AND FIND YOUR OWN MAGGOTS. The maggots on that dead squirrel out back are far from sterile!
Keep the wound clean. Change the bandages no more or less than instructed. Keep the leg elevated to promote blood return from the foot and leg.
Keep his blood sugars under tight control. Infection causes blood sugars to go all over the place and bacteria LOVE sugar. Keep him well nourished (diabetic diet) and well hydrated (sugarless drinks). Avoid putting pressure on the wound as this does not allow blood to come into the wound to do it’s job.
If he is on an antibiotic make sure he takes it on time every time and that he takes all of it.
If all of this is too much ask your healthcare provider to order a home care nurse to come in daily to supervise the wound and access it. There is no shame in saying you can’t handle something.
Good luck!

Unfortunately, there are no easy or quick fixes. Just make sure that you do EVERYTHING that you possibly can to follow doctors instructions and not get it infected. Check it multiple times per day for signs of infection. A good resource would be a wound care clinic in your area – these are professionals that are trained to treat problems like yours. If you are not seeing results as expected after following your doctors instructions you may ask to be referred to one of these clinics for evaluation and therapy. It is vital to keeping your leg to do this. (My hospital has the best wound care clinic in the state and among other things uses a hyperbaric chamber to promote wound healing.)

The diabetic foot ulcer at the bottom of the foot is very difficult to heal. There are many impediments to healing of diab foot ulcer- one of them is whatever the home remedy you are looking for. Your DR. should take xrays to make sure there is no bone infection. If ?, the Dr would do MRI or bone scan to make sure for no bone infection. Also circulation test to assess the healing potential. If not enough blood supply, Dr should prescribe medications to increase blood to the foot. If that’s not enough you need vascular bypass surgery or a balloon angioplasty. Most important… do not smoke do not put weight on the affected foot and control your blood sugar. If you have hard time controlling your sugar, you may have deep abscess or chronic infection which is usually the case in a long standing diabetic foot ulcer. Go to a board certified podiatrist in your area for second opinion. Medicine is so advanced, if you go to a diabetic foot specialist ASAP, you may save your leg or toes. I am a board certified diabetic foot specialist. Good luck.
