use baby wash morning and night. be sure to use A LOT of water with it. make lots of bubbles in your hands or washcloth instead of putting the pure soap on your face. i use an oil-free, noncomedogenic multivitamin lotion (just read the ingredients b4 u buy). keep your hands away from your face and be sure they're clean when touching your face...and the best tip i have....DOUBLE the amount of water you drink. your outside is a reflexion of what you put inside your body. good luck!

With your home remedies you might have made the situation actually worse. Get any Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% cream/gel/lotion like Neutrogena OnTheSpot or Proactiv- it will work fine. For lower budget they sell Duane Reade brand 3-step system, which replicates Proactiv almost to the T- not as good, but also works.

most oil accumulates near the hair follicles of your eyebrows, and nose. Before I go one a "acne spending spree", ask yourself these questions: 1.When was the last time I changed my sheets/pillowcase? 2.Am I using a new shampoo, or soap? 3.When was the last time I changed my mattress? 4.What foods do I eat the day before and during my pimple outbreaks? 5.Do the bumps grow big, smell, and have long discharge? Sensitive skin or allergies can affect your skin dramatically. Questions 1-3 address it. The solution for that is taking a nice aveeno colloidal oatmeal bath, the soap is also good as well (if your cheap use head and shoulders as body wash), and switch shampoos, and make your environment cleaner. Nutrition and hormones can also be a factor, dark chocolate is one of the things that causes my husband to have several gigantic bumps (Question 5) known as the "boil". It doesn't have a white tip, but swells up, and can be extremely tender until it burst. Wash your face daily, and buy Boilease. I got it at CVS, and it speeds up the recovery time/discomfort. Stress can also be a factor. Listen to your bodies cues, that will be your answer. If you can't figure it out, visit your regular doctor or a dermatologist. Ask them about the acne products out there, before trying them out. It could save you a lot of money/time.

I suffer from acne too buddy. I had a terrible breakout about two weekends ago, and it's barely starting to clear up. And my senior pictures are in a week...ughh. Oh well, they can take out the acne :D
anyways, I know what you mean about how NOTHING seems to work, but this is what I do.
I sit out in the sun for about 10 minutes and let the sun dry up the oils. [I don't sit out too long because then it could make it worse.] I also hear a tan helps temporarily for redness..but I don't know if that's true.
And every morning/night, I use a simple bar of soap to wash my face off with. I hear you're supposed to use Lever 2000 [which is what my Doctor said to use] but I honestly don't know...It's what my family has always used. Then after I rinse off the soap, I apply my Proactiv [ :( ] lotion onto my face.
I have found this to be the best way to relieve acne. Two days ago my face was super red, dry, peeling, and just gross. But now it's gotten a WHOLE lot better, my skin color is coming back, it's getting moisturized, not peeling anymore, and the acne is slowly clearing up.
As you may know, it's not a quick process, but I have found that to be the only thing that really works "fast".
A few of things that I might add:
a) Do not purchase proactive, it really cleared up my face the first couple of weeks, but then it just stopped working...so I
quit using it.
b) Don't use toothpaste, it MIGHT work for a single zit on your chin or forehead, but don't use it on multiple areas...TRUST ME.
c) Don't over wash your face either. I will sometimes wash my hands, then apply my lotion if I feel my face is getting a little too dry, but if you wash your face too much, it'll only make it worse.
d) Don't mix a bunch of different products together. I've done it before, it's never really made my face worse, but it certainly didn't make it any better.
e) Always wash your face before you go to bed! This is the leading cause of my acne, mainly it's because I forget to wash my face before I go to bed [or I just am too lazy]. I recently put a reminder on my cell phone at 11:30pm to wash my face.
f) It's always important to keep your hands clean. The grease/oils from your hands can really upset your acne. Also, before you go to wash your face, WASH YOUR HANDS.
