Firstly, it won't do any good. Won't kill the mites and will damage their skin. Unfortunately the only thing that will work is the prescription treatment. Because the mites are under the skin, the head lice treatment won't reach them unless you practically drown your kids in it!
Scabies are found in between the fingers and toes, and then after that in the creases or elbows and knees, anywhere warm and hard to wash. Is there a possibility that you and your daughter have caught chicken pox or measles from someone? If the bumps are all over and your daughter is unwell in herself as well it sounds more like that sort of thing. If you really can't afford a doctor, try NHS direct online. It's a UK site, but will help you diagnose what you both have and give you self help ideas. Good luck.

There are very few medications that are safe to use on children younger than two for scabies and lice. # Only permethrin, crotamiton, and sulfur ointment are considered safe for treating children younger than age 2.
Lindane is sometimes used as a treatment. Lindane is not recommended for babies, older adults, anyone who weighs less than 110 lb or people who have a weakened immune system.Lindane shampoo and lotion are not available in California for treating lice or scabies.
Scabies often requires a prescription, usually permethrin, to get rid of it, along with a thorough housecleaning. It usually cures scabies infestation after the first application. Kwell (lindane) which is also used for lice sometimes helps, but the preferred medications for small children and breastfeeding women are precription only. There really aren't any good, reliable, home treatments.

i wouldn't chance it. that stuff is pretty harsh. i agree with the first person, ask a pharmacist. or try an anti-dandruff shampoo (like head n shoulders) my doctor said that this is safe for my daughter of the same age. just use a little bit and be careful not to get it into her eyes.

Tea tree oil at Walmart in the vitiamin section kills lice and prevents it, but I do not know about scabies . I would personaly take my children down to the local E.R and get them seen we are not doctors and you really should not follow our advise when it comes to the health of your family.
