Ways To Help Me Fall Asleep….?
I have been staying up really late and getting up really late in the day. I have tried to go to sleep early but I can’t. Last night I read a whole book because I couldn’t sleep. Does anyone have some ways that can help me fall asleep. Like some at home remedies.
Here are a few suggestions:
-No caffeine after 3:00 in afternoon.
-Eat foods promoting melatonin production in early evening-I believe bananas are one of the foods that do this as well as cucumbers.
-An hour before bedtime, turn of all overhead lights and use soft lamps to set mood for sleep.
-Set a lamp in your bedroom to go off about thirty minutes before alarm time. It will help your body to wake up.
-If you are awake for more than thirty minutes, get out of bed and do something relaxing and get into bed only when you feel tired.
-Use bed only for sleep-don’t do homework, watch tv, etc in it because then your body starts to associate activities other than sleep in it.
-Have a light snack before bedtime.
-Keep same bedtime and awakening time on weekdays and weekends.
-Try not to nap during the day.

Benadryl is what most Drs and Pharmacists would recommend. I take the liquid, instead of the pill so that I don’t have to take a full dose if I don’t want to. You can take anywhere up to 50mg.
Drink a glass of warm milk with vanilla mixed in it.
Don’t use your bedroom for anything related to work, school, etc. Only use it for sleep (or other bedroom acceptable activity) Make it a stress free zone.
Take a hot bath.
Put your alamrm clock somewhere you can’t see it.
