Injection Remedy For Decubitus?
I am NOT a health professional. I am a friend of someone who is being treated. He (our bedridden, morbidly obese-600+lbs) friend has two ‘holes’ in his leg ( decubitus?) that are draining. He has found a doctor who comes to his house periodically, and the doctor ordered cultures done on the holes and now wants our friend to have several injections per day in each arm to help treat these holes. The thought of the injections is stressful to our bedridden friend, but he wont ask the doctor about alternatives. What I would like to know is, what could the medicine be and how important is it? And does anyone know if there are alternative treatments for these ulcer-holes? Our friend weighs about 600+ lbs, and going to the hospital, even, is a major task which involves calling the fire department. Couldnt he be given an IV at home for the medicine? Apparently the number of injections has to do with his extreme weight. Thanks.
